Dedicated programmes for different age groups: We offer both a junior programme for ages 7-11 and a senior programme for ages 12-17.  Junior Programme Ages 7–11 : Whether this is your child’s first experience away from home or they are a regular globetrotter, our Junior Programme will provide them with the perfect blend of learning, fun activities and cultural experiences. Each child can experience our timetable differently, based on their standard of English. Senior Programme Ages 12–17 : Your child may already be fully conversant in English, or perhaps this is the perfect time for them to experience a taste of British boarding school life. Whatever stage they are at, our Summer School will have something to offer a growing and learning teenager. Our Senior Programme provides the perfect balance of stimulating lessons, fun activities and cultural experiences.

Three Fun and Educational Excursions Per Week
Each week, there’s a buzz of excitement as students prepare to step outside the classroom for unique learning experiences. Children from diverse cultures come together, sharing their enthusiasm for the adventures ahead.
Our trips are designed to combine culture with fun, and the destinations change weekly throughout the summer school. Students explore London, Cambridge, and beyond, creating unforgettable memories.

There are two Academic Pathways to choose from:
EnglishThis pathway is ideal for students eager to rapidly improve their English language skills and build confidence in communication. On the first day, students will undergo an assessment to ensure they are placed in the class that best matches their current proficiency level.
Global StudiesThis pathway explores advanced topics and global issues. It is designed for students with a strong command of the English language. It is perfect for those passionate about complex subjects who want to deepen their understanding of the world. An advanced level of English comprehension is required to participate in this pathway.
Academies:
Academies are engaging activities that allow students to enhance their language skills while also developing other abilities. Students can enhance their learning over two weeks by choosing from various academies, including fields such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Arts and Humanities, Business, Technology and Innovation, Sports, and Environmental Sciences. Each academy is subject to availability, so early registration is recommended.
Please note that some academies are tailored explicitly for Juniors or Seniors.
Clubs: Clubs are enjoyable activities and games encouraging social interaction and fun. Students can choose a different club every week at our famous Club’s Fair. Clubs are subject to availability.

Language lessons

Your child may be early on in their adoption of the English language; others may be bilingual but looking to experience a taste of British boarding school life and culture. We offer 21 hours per week of English tuition to suit different abilities or a Global Studies option for our senior students who are more passionate about international affairs. Junior Programme: Three 1 hour lessons take place every morning for 5 days during the week. There is also a fun-based project session on Sunday morning. Each child will be allocated to the appropriate level class following an assessment on their first day. Senior Programme: For students eager to rapidly improve their English language skills and build confidence in communication. On the first day, students will undergo an assessment to ensure they are placed in the class that best matches their current proficiency level.

Accommodation & facilities

On-site accommodation in our finest boarding houses
Our senior students stay in one of our senior boarding houses, comprising single and double rooms, plus some small dormitories, all with shared bathrooms. Our junior students stay in shared rooms in a dedicated boarding house used by our younger children throughout the year. All our boarding houses are well-staffed and supervised, accommodating the needs of every individual child. They are fully secure, and each has a sitting room with TV and games, an outdoor garden to relax in, and a kitchen where drinks and snacks are provided. Our award-winning Felsted chefs produce a wide variety of food that suits all tastes, cultures, and dietary requirements. All our meals are cooked in-house and served in our modern dining hall. Laundry is provided free of charge five days per week.

The nearest airport to Felsted International Summer School is Stansted Airport. Airport pickup is available upon request. Located only 20 minutes from Stansted Airport and 90 minutes from Heathrow and Gatwick International Airports, we are perfectly located between London and Cambridge, offering our summer school students numerous historic sites and places of interest to visit. Q&A

2-week Programme: £3780 and 4-week Programme: £7500These prices (inclusive of VAT) are based on 2025 Summer School and subject to a year-on-year increase. The price includes: accommodation, laundry (available four times per week), three meals per day plus an evening snack, three excursions per week

Payments: Once we have received your booking form, we will send a request for the following: 1. Non-Refundable Deposit of £500.00, payable within 14 days of request; 2. Final Invoice which is payable by 25th May 2025. For all bookings made after 25th May 2025, the full invoice is payable within14 days or before the student commences their course. Cancellation: In the case of exceptional circumstances, such as medical emergencies, Felsted School will consider deferring fees to the next programme year, enabling students to attend the course one year later. In these circumstances, please contact the summer school directly and provide any necessary documentation as asked. No fees will be refunded if the course is cancelled by the student/parents once they have arrived at the school. In the case of medical emergencies, after the pupil has arrived, the school may offer the opportunity for the course fee to be deferred to the following year. In the event of an unforeseeable circumstance, such as a natural disaster or a globalpandemic, Felsted School reserves the right to cancel the course within 28 days ofthe start date.

At Felsted International Summer School the safety of our students and staff is our number one concern. All staff members will participate in a valuable three-day induction programme designed to equip them with essential knowledge and skills. The program includes comprehensive training on school policies and procedures, safeguarding practices, first aid, fire safety, and various professional development courses. Some sessions will be held online, allowing for flexibility, and participants will receive a certificate upon completion. Additionally, in-person sessions will be led by our experienced year-round Felsted staff, ensuring a rich learning experience. This induction is a great opportunity to foster a strong foundation for your role within our community.

During summer school, we expect students to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. The drinking of alcohol and smoking/vaping are strictly forbidden at all times during the course. Failure to abide by these conditions may lead to disciplinary action such as a formal warning or removal from the course with no refund of fees paid should the offence be repeated.Students must adhere to all Felsted rules as outlined during their orientation once they arrive at Felsted.

Mobile phones are allowed only during breaks, free time, and house time. They are not permitted during lessons or activities.
