BLISS is a residential English Language summer school designed to give young people more than classroom English. We run our programmes in outstanding British boarding school settings, such as Strathallan School, Dollar Academy and Loretto School, in Scotland and at Prior's Field and Kent College near London.
These campuses provide safe, green, spacious environments with excellent facilities for learning, sport and social activities. Students experience life in real UK school communities, not temporary venues, which helps them quickly feel part of something purposeful and well-structured.
What sets BLISS apart is the balance between academic progress and personal growth. English lessons are engaging and practical, but the real difference is how students are encouraged to speak up, take responsibility and build confidence every day.
At the centre of this approach is The BLISS Academy — a focused programme that develops communication skills, teamwork and leadership through presentations, projects and real-world challenges.
BLISS is about helping students grow in ability and self-belief, in environments that support both achievement and enjoyment.

At The BLISS Academy, English is taught with purpose. Students follow one of two distinct pathways — both designed to build fluency, confidence and real-world communication skills.
Core English
Core English focuses on strengthening language foundations. Students develop production accuracy, vocabulary range, listening skills and written structure in small, supportive classes. Lessons are practical and interactive, encouraging students to speak regularly and apply what they learn immediately. The aim is measurable progress — clearer expression, stronger comprehension and greater confidence using English in academic and everyday situations.

Global Leadership uses English as the working language for bigger ideas. Students explore leadership, teamwork, problem-solving and presentation skills through projects and debate. They collaborate, research, create and present — building the confidence to express opinions clearly and lead discussions in English.
Together, these two pathways ensure that every student not only improves their language ability, but also learns how to use English with purpose, influence and self-belief.

At The BLISS Academy, language lessons are structured, engaging and designed for real progress.
Students are placed in small classes according to their level, ensuring focused support and appropriate challenge. Each lesson combines clear learning objectives with interactive activities — discussion, role-play, collaborative tasks and problem-solving — so students actively use English rather than passively receive it.
A typical lesson includes:
Language input – functional language introduced in context
Guided practice – structured speaking and listening activities
Application – group tasks, debates, presentations or written work
Feedback – personalised guidance to refine accuracy and confidence
Lessons are practical and communication-focused. Students are encouraged to speak regularly, ask questions and take risks in a supportive environment.
Progress is monitored throughout the programme, with clear goals and visible improvement. The result is not just better English, but greater confidence using it naturally — in class, socially and beyond.

Strathallan
Set in beautiful Perthshire countryside, Strathallan offers space, safety and exceptional facilities. Students benefit from modern classrooms, comfortable boarding houses and extensive sports provision including indoor sports halls, outdoor pitches and a swimming pool. The campus environment allows students to focus, relax and fully engage in both academic and activity programmes.
Dollar Academy
Located at the foot of the Ochil Hills, Dollar Academy combines historic architecture with excellent modern facilities. Students enjoy bright teaching spaces, impressive assembly and performance halls, extensive playing fields and welcoming residential accommodation. The campus layout creates a strong sense of community while offering plenty of room for sport and outdoor activities.

Situated near the coast in East Lothian, Loretto offers a distinctive seaside setting with excellent academic and sporting facilities. Students benefit from well-equipped classrooms, quality boarding accommodation and strong sports infrastructure. Its proximity to Edinburgh also allows for exciting cultural excursions alongside on-campus learning.
Prior's Field
Set in beautiful parkland in Surrey, Prior’s Field offers a calm, welcoming campus environment with strong pastoral care. The school combines historic character with modern teaching spaces and comfortable boarding accommodation. Students benefit from dedicated performance areas, creative arts facilities and open green spaces that support both academic focus and relaxed social time. Its location near London also makes it ideal for cultural excursions.
Kent College, Pembury
Located in the Kent countryside, Kent College Pembury offers spacious grounds and excellent modern facilities. Students enjoy bright classrooms, quality boarding houses and impressive sports provision, including indoor and outdoor facilities. The campus layout creates a safe, self-contained environment where students can learn, socialise and take part in activities with confidence.
