The nearest airport to YMCA Camp Hi-Rock is Albany International (ALB). Airport pickup is available upon request.
The deposit is not refundable, as it covers the administrative costs of registrations and cancellations. Any other payments will only be refunded if the camp office receives written notice of cancellation by June 1. Refunds can take up to 90 days to process, regardless of amount. If a camper is unable to come to camp due to an accident or illness, payments are refundable provided a doctor’s note is submitted. Refunds will also be granted in the case of COVID-19 related cancellations. Refunds will not be granted to campers who choose not to complete their stay due to homesickness or dislike of our programs, or who are expelled from camp due to their failure to comply with the Camper Code of Conduct.

At Hi-Rock, a camper will be able to choose from over 30 program areas including archery, basketball, canoeing, creative crafts, creative writing, dance, digital photography, fishing, hiking, kayaking, outdoor living skills, paddle boarding, rock climbing, ropes course, sailing, singing, soccer, swimming, ukulele, water skiing, and more! Our main philosophy at Hi-Rock is that each child is an individual and is treated as such.
Our staff strives to identify those areas in which each child excels and help children feel good about themselves. We provide solid role models through sensitive, knowledgeable and professional staff who focus on helping children develop strong friendships and improve self-esteem at camp. The confidence that is developed during a camper’s time at Hi-Rock stays with them long after they have left camp.
Camp Hi-Rock also offers BOLD & GOLD Outdoor Leadership Expeditions. On our trips, youth develop their leadership potential as positive multicultural leaders. Our small groups (eight participants and two instructors) travel to some of the most beautiful places in the Northeast. Using breathtaking wilderness classrooms, our participants return from our programs knowing that the confidence, strength and friendships they developed will help them meet any challenge in the classroom, or back home in their communities.

Camp is really an extension of my family. The friendships I’ve created here are still going strong today with people from all over the globe that I never would have otherwise met. It’s a summer vacation that lasts two to eight weeks but the experience lasts a lifetime. It’s an environment that allows you to find yourself and encourages personal growth. It has been a fabulous learning experience and has enriched my life greatly.
Every time I drive up the camp road I get an overwhelming feeling of excitement. This is due to the fact that camp really is a home-away-from-home. Being a Hi-Rocker means being bonded to amazing people all over the world, and right here in Mt. Washington. The people you meet through camp become your family, whether you spend 1 year with them, or 15 years. There is no greater connection than befriending, working, and living with people from all over the world, while living on this beautiful little lake. Camp is a part of you, no matter where you go. Sending me to Hi-Rock was the greatest gift my parents ever gave me, and returning as staff was one of the best decisions I ever made.
Camp Hi-Rock changed my life! I started attending Hi-Rock as one of the littlest campers at 8 years old and continued straight through for more years than I can count, eventually working as a counselor and then program director. I return now with my children for Family Camp and am happy to report that the magic that is Hi-Rock is alive and well. Campers and staff come from all walks of life and all corners of the world. Every person who is lucky enough to spend a summer at Hi-Rock will grow tremendously in all aspects of their life (social, emotional, sports and outdoor skills, etc.).
