Participants should have their own insurance coverage. In the event of an injury or emergency, first aid care will be provided, and transportation to the nearest doctor or hospital will be arranged if needed. Additionally, cleaning protocols will be in place for all public spaces and rooms to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

The leadership and supervision at Ranum Efterskole during the summer program are designed to ensure a safe and enriching experience for all participants. The program is overseen by a summer school director or program leader, who is responsible for coordinating activities and ensuring the smooth operation of the program. Teachers and activity leaders handle academic sessions, creative workshops, and extracurricular activities. Support staff, including health personnel and administrative staff, are on hand to meet the students’ daily needs and manage any emergencies. Clear communication between students, staff, and parents is essential, and parents are typically kept informed of important events or any issues that arise during the program.

The is includes obtaining the mandatory child-protection certificate, which ensures that no employee has a criminal record that could make them unsuitable to work with children. By being part of this community, students agree to uphold these principles, fostering personal growth and mutual respect. Respect for Others is at the heart of our community. Students are expected to treat everyone with kindness and inclusivity, valuing diversity and cooperation. Bullying, discrimination, and harassment are not tolerated. Responsibility and Integrity are essential. Students must care for school property, be honest in their academic work, and take responsibility for their actions, both in and outside the classroom. Health and Safety are top priorities. Our policies include a strict no-drugs rule, no alcohol on school grounds, and a ban on smoking, including tobacco, snuff, and e-cigarettes. Students must also follow safety guidelines, especially for maritime activities, in line with Danish Maritime Authority regulations. Environmental Responsibility is encouraged through sustainable practices like recycling, reducing waste, and conserving energy. Students should respect nature and engage with the environment responsibly. At Ranum, we promote Freedom with Responsibility. While students are free to express themselves, it must be done respectfully. Conflicts should be resolved peacefully and constructively. Violations of the Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary actions, from warnings to suspension from school activities, depending on the situation. These measures ensure that the school remains a positive, safe environment for everyone. At the camp, mobile phone usage is limited to encourage focus during classes and promote more face-to-face interactions. Phones should not be used during class time, from 8 AM to 2 PM. Outside of class hours, students are allowed to use their phones, but we encourage them to engage with each other and make the most of their time in a shared, social environment. Our goal is to help students connect more deeply with one another, minimizing distractions and fostering meaningful relationships without the constant pull of technology.
