Our two Directors are on site at all times.
We then have 4 ‘Senior Staff’ Team members and our ‘Camp Mum’ on site
We then have our councillors, we call them ‘Role Models’. Who attend all workshops and activities with their assigned campers – This is on a ratio of 1 Role Model to 11 campers plus their assigned supervisor staff members and activity leads.

All staff must have a DBS check.
Have experience of working with young people.
Know the directors or be character referenced by current staff.

Yes. All members of our team require background DBS checks and provide character references. Majority of our staff are known to us prior to joining our team and new members are character referenced by current members.

All staff go through pre-camp training to ensure they understand our camp ethos.
We teach our Four Pillars of Camp: Respect, Inclusion, Identity and Community.
They are taught how to de-escalate and escalate any issues to supervisors as well as all relevant local safeguarding and health and safety for the site.

We pride ourselves in employing staff who represent our campers with respect to all socio-economic, race, gender and belief backgrounds.

Code of Conduct is explained through our four pillars of camp:
– Respect – yourself and those around you including staff, campers and nature
– Identity – We promote development of self identity and the promotion of others to find theirs.
– Inclusion – We endeavour to ensure nobody feels left out and are proud this is recognised by previous parents campers in our Google Reviews. Bullying has a zero tolerance policy and will be addressed immediately
– Community – We are welcoming and celebrating of all, regardless or race, background or beliefs. Camp becomes one family and a melting pot of cultures.
On the first day of camp we sit as a whole camp and review our code of conduct and safety precautions in the case of an unlikely incident.

At Fit the Mould’s West End Theatre Camp, we encourage campers to be fully present, engage with activities, and build lasting friendships. To maintain a positive and immersive experience, we have the following mobile phone policy:
1.Limited Use – Campers may bring mobile phones but can only use them during designated times. Phones are brought at campers own risk and FTM Camp holds no responsibility for any lost or damaged items.
2.No Use During Activities – Phones must be kept away during musical theatre training, adventure activities, and team bonding to ensure full participation.
3.Evening Access – Phones may be used during designated free time in the evenings to check in with family.
4.Emergency Contact – If parents need to reach their child outside of phone access times, they can contact camp staff directly who have access to emergency contacts. We have our ‘Camp Mum’ who is an available designated contact who can escalate to directors as needed.
5.On-Site Videographer and Photographer – We have a professional videographer and photographer on-site to capture all the special moments of camp, so you can enjoy the experience without distraction.
By following this policy, we ensure campers have a focused, engaging, and memorable experience at camp.
