Founded in 1947 and run by the second generation of the Méan family, La Garenne International School offers a fantastic summer camp to children of over 35 different nationalities from 5 to 16 years of age. Our school is set in the charming French-speaking ski resort of Villars-sur-Ollon providing a secure environment for our campers. They enjoy our renowned authentic Swiss Style Summer Camp, with French or English language courses each morning followed by fun cultural and themed activities – all in a warm, reassuring family ambiance.

A choice of sessions takes place in July, during which campers experience a varied programme of learning, play, discovery, and sharing. Our ‘adult to student’ ratio is 1:2; these adults are teachers and monitors who are employed all year round by La Garenne, to ensure camp is safe and memorable.

Our philosophy is based on the traditional values of responsibility, kindness, and security, which are key elements for a successful and balanced life.

Academic Courses

Language Courses

Our language courses are designed for children aged from 5 to 16 years, who wish to learn French or English intensively. In a short time, children at all levels will develop their grammar and vocabulary, whilst practicing reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. To enhance conditions for learning, children are divided into small classes and into levels ranging from complete beginners to advanced, as well as differentiating by age. Lessons take place between 8.30 a.m. and 12:00 from Monday to Friday, lead by our dynamic and experienced teaching team - many of whom are employed by La Garenne all year round.
